The inaugural session of the 14th World Congress that will be held on Friday, January 23rd2004, will include Chief Guest Address by Shri S M Krishna, Presidential Address by Shri. R V Deshpande, Ministry of Industry, Karnataka, Inaugural Address by H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Special Address by Dr. Over Hartz, Former President of European Organisation for Quality and Keynote address by Dr. Madhav Mehra, Chairman of World Quality Council & President of Institute of Directors.
The 14th World Congress will witness address by more than 65 industry experts from all over the world with over 18 sessions during the conference over the 3 days and leading edge workshops that will precede the conference.
The world congress on total quality will be the biggest assemblage of quality thinkers in Asia and offers an unrivalled networking opportunity for business leaders, policy makers and quality professionals. It aims to build coalition of informed constituencies address quality environment and governance issues in a holistic manner. The congress will focus on Six Sigma to provide profits and CSR, to eliminate poverty and EMS (Environment Management Systems) to upgrade environment.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Madhav Mehra, Chairman, World Quality Council, said, "Quality today has moved away from just products and services. To meet the coming challenges of corporate world, leading edge concurrent workshops for senior management on CSR and Six Sigma are being organised on January 23rd, 2004 and would be conducted by international experts from USA, UK and India. The workshop on Six Sigma would focus on areas such as Six Sigma & applications, delivering value through Six Sigma in manufacturing and implementing Six Sigma in service sector. The CSR workshops would focus on areas like CSR for building competitive advantage and multi sectoral collaboration in social, environmental and education projects.
