Belfast shipyard to have Titanic-themed five star hotel

Developers have drawn plans to build a five-star, 90-bed Titanic-themed hotel at the old headquarters of the Belfast shipyard where the ill-fated passenger liner, the Titanic, was built.
The hotel, developed by a company known as Titanic Quarter, has lodged a planning application to transform the former headquarter building of Harland & Wolff shipyard company at Queen's Island in Belfast into a 90-bed boutique hotel.
The RMS Titanic was an Olympic-class passenger liner, the largest passenger steamship in the world, owned by British shipping company White Star Line and built in March 1912 at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland.
Titanic Quarter said, ''Given the enormous global interest in the Titanic and the building's close associations with the ship, such a hotel will add to the Northern Ireland tourist experience.''
The hotel, part of the redevelopment of 185 acres of former shipyard land known as the Titanic Quarter, would be part of the centrepiece Titanic Signature Project, which is projected to bring alive the area's history.
The Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is an area situated on reclaimed land in Belfast city harbour, known until recently as Queen's Island.
