A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court today granted a five-day remand for A Raja, former telecom minister along with his two former aides -- former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura and personal secretary R K Chandolia to the investigative agency.
Raja, arrested for his role in spectrum scam, said to be the biggest scam in Indian history, was today presented in the Patiala House Court along with his two aides.
The trio was presented before CBI judge O P Saini at court, according to the officers of the agency.
According to analysts, the probe teams that includes the Enforcement Directorate which investigates dubious cross-border deals, would seek Raja's remand for detailed questioning. According to the official auditor, Raja's actions had resulted in a loss of $12.8 billion to $40 billion to the exchequer.
According to a senior CBI officer, the agency would file a formal chargesheet against the three accused within 60 days.
