With the move, telecom services in Noida falling under Delhi telecom circle have be severely hit and the situation could worsen for mobile users in Delhi telecom circle if authorities in the capital and in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad were to decide to follow suit.
Around 250 of the 600-odd mobile towers in Noida have been sealed even as authorities launched a survey to find out if any more illegal towers were operational.
The sudden crackdown on illegal towers has left subscribers in a fix as this has led to face serious connectivity problems.
