Micromax launches Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G smartphone for less than Rs7,000

The sub 7K smartphone segment is seeing increasing action, with the launch of new entry-level phones by domestic or Chinese companies within India, with the gap between the specifications of these phones narrowing. A new entrant to the category is Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G, priced Rs6,599.
Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G, the successor to Canvas Xpress 2, is a rectangular smartphone with sharp corners, with the front of the phone sporting a 5-inch HD display that supports 720p resolution within a thick bezel. According to commentators, the display looked good without pixilation and rendered the colours accurately, even when the screen was viewed from different angles.
The speaker of the smartphone and the selfie camera are placed above the display with the haptic keys at the bottom. The back panel of the Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G housed the 2,000mAh removable battery along with the dual sim and the microSD card slots. The main camera at the rear has a LED flash with the Micromax logo below it.
Micromax also launched Canvas Pace 4G featuring a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED Flash. For selfies, it has a 2 megapixel front camera. It comes with 8GB on-board storage which is capable of expansion up to 32GB using microSD card.
It offers a range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB OTG, and Micro-USB. It offers support for both TDD-LTE and FD-LTE bands and packs a 2,500mAh battery which gives 9 hours of talktime and 375 hrs of standby time.
Micromax Canvas Pace 4G Q416 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
The key specifications of the handset are 1.1 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 Mp rear camera with LED flash, 2 Mp front camera, 2,500 mAh battery.
Micromax Canvas Pace 4G is being offered in India for Rs6,281. It comes in black colour.
