Disney to announce animation JV with Yash Raj Films: WSJ

The Wall Street Journal today reported in its online edition that Walt Disney Co. is set to announce a joint venture with Yash Raj Films to make animations films.

The report said the venture would make at least one animation film per year with voices being provided by Indian film stars.

Disney is looking for a bigger share of India''s rapidly growing media and entertainment market.

Last year it bought Hungama, a Hindi-language children''s'' entertainment channel from UTV Software Communications Ltd. and also took a 14.9-per cent stake in the broadcaster.

According to Yash Raj a press conference was scheduled for Tuesday concerning Disney.
