The water and wastewater treatment market in India's dairy and beverage sectors is estimated to touch Rs538 crore by 2016. The market earned revenues of more than Rs278 crore in 2011, according to a study by research firm Frost & Sullivan.
The combined growth of the dairy and beverage sectors in India drives water and wastewater treatment (WWWT) market, as many manufacturers are increasingly adopting best practices in a bid to expand their businesses and compete in the global arena.
They voluntarily opt for superior water treatment technologies to meet global process standards, boosting the potential of the WWWT market, the study added.
''The carbonated soft drinks market is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate of about 10 per cent during the forecast period, and the fresh juices and health drinks markets are likely to advance at a CAGR of nearly 25 per cent,'' said Frost & Sullivan's Research Analyst.
''This double-digit growth of the Indian beverage sector enhances the prospects of the WWWT market in the country,'' he added.
Changing lifestyles and environmental concerns further contribute to the development of the WWWT market. Greater health awareness among consumers augments demand for high-quality products and packaged beverages produced through superior processes, technologies and equipment.
