Hyderabad: Hotel Hindustan International (HHI), a Kolkata-based five-star group of hotels, has appointed Travel Express Ltd, a leading travel agent from Hyderabad, as its GSA (General Sales Agent) for Andhra Pradesh.
In a company press release, Sanjeev Kapoor, general manager, HHI, said that the appointment of a GSA in Hyderabad was part of the groups plan to foray into the southern market. "Hotel Hindustan International, set up in Kolkata in 1969, is the first five-star hotel in Eastern India. We opened our second hotel in Varanasi in 1985, which attracts a lot of spiritual tourists and leisure tourists. We found that there has been a lot of influx of tourists from south and especially from Hyderabad," he said.
The hotel group is setting up its third facility in Goa within 18 months. "We also have long-term plans for south India. We might acquire property and start construction in Hyderabad within the next couple of years. The tie-up with Travel Express facilitates our entry here, he said.
