Hyderabad to host solar energy event `Solarcon' in November

The popular solar energy event `Solarcon India' will be held on 9-11 November at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in the Andhra Pradesh capital.
The convention would feature solar PV technical workshops and certification programmes. The event is being organised by Solarcon India in partnership with the National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) of IIT Bombay.
Organised by trade association Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) India, the convention hopes to bring its members closer to industry leaders to work collaboratively on issues such as workforce development.
According to SEMI, Solarcon India is a platform to give voice to the solar manufacturing industry in India and to further serve its constituents through a wide range of initiatives such as industry standards, public policy, market research and environmental, health and safety (EHS) programmes.
The SEMI India PV Advisory Committee represents companies that are engaged in the manufacture and supply of equipment and materials as also academia, and connects the complete PV supply chain in India. The membership includes Tata BP Solar, Applied Materials India, Lanco Solar, Solar Semiconductor, Moser Baer India, Titan Energy Systems, Oerlikon Solar, Websol Energy Solutions Ltd, SunEdison Energy India Pvt Ltd, AES Solar Energy Pvt Ltd, Department of Energy Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and Siemens Ltd.
Meanwhile, SEMI and the NCPRE will conduct a short course on "Solar PV Power Systems: Concepts, Operation and Applications" on 23-26 August at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Rajasthan, an important solar energy destination in India
