India’s crude production marginally down at 1.14 million tonnes in June
25 Jul 2012
Crude oil production in the country stood at 3.142 million tonnes in June 2012, down 2.5 per cent from the target of 3.222 million tonnes and 0.8 per cent lower than the output level in June 2011.
For the April-June 2012 quarter, crude production in the country stood at 9.533 million tones, down 2.3 per cent from the targeted level and 0.5 per cent lower than the April-June 2011 level of 9.586 million tonnes.
Among oil producers, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) reported crude output of 1.854 million tonnes in June 2012, which was 2.3 per cent short of its targeted production of 1.898 million tonnes. Oil India Ltd (OIL) added 0.307 million tonnes in June, down 4.5 per cent from its target of 0.322 million tonnes.
Private companies and joint ventures added 0.980 million tonnes (target of 1.002 million tonnes), taking total crude production in June 2012 to 3.142 million tonnes.
Mumbai offshore continued to be the mainstay of ONGC, while production from Gujarat offshore fields rose to 0.440 million tonnes. However, production from development and side-track wells was less than anticipated.
Closure of wells due to low availiability of gas for gas lift, increasing water cut, less than anticipated oil gain from Vasai East and decline in line condensate receipt from offshore affected production.
