Julian Assange, the 43-year-old WikiLeaks founder is all set to launch his range of apparel and accessories in India hoping to cash-in on the popularity of online shopping in a bid to catapult himself into an iconic brand on the lines of Che Guevara, the famous Argentine revolutionary, The Times of India reported.
According to commentators, with the move, Assange was also hoping that he would be able to strike a similar chord in the heart of the world's youngest democracy.
An Iceland-based WikiLeaks representative told the newspaper that India was one of the countries where awareness about WikiLeaks was the highest and Asange was excited about the proposition.
He added that the monetisation of the WikiLeaks brand would help rake in additional funds for the non-profit online organisation, since it relied mainly on donations. Olafur would be in India over the weekend to discuss with potential partners.
