Kutty Srank wins `Swarna Kamal' for best feature film

Reliance Big Pictures' Malayalam film Kutty Srank has won the `Swarna Kamal' for the best feature film in 2009. The award also carries a cash prize of Rs2,50,000. The film also brought Shaji N Karun the `Swarna Kamal' for the best director and a cash prize of Rs2,50,000.
Kutty Srank also brought the `Rajat Kamal' and Rs50,000 cash prize for `Best Screenplay' to writer P F Mathews and Harikrishna and cameraman Anjuli Shukla and Adlabs Films Ltd's processing laboratory the `Rajat Kamal' and Rs50,000 cash award for `Best Cinematography'.
The film also brought Jayakumar and Rajat Kamal the `Rajat Kamal' and Rs50,000 cash award for `Best Costume Designer'. The 57th National Film Awards for the Year 2009 were announced by the Directorate of Film Festivals today.
Producer Vivek Khatkar's Hindi film Lahore won the `Indira Gandhi Award for the Best Debut Film' of a director. Both producer Khatkar and director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan will receive `Swarna Kamal' and cash prize of Rs1,25,000 each.
Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Hindi film 3 Idiots won the award for the `Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment'. Both the producer and director Raj Kumar Hirani will receive the `Swarna Kamal' and cash prize of 2,00,000 each.
Producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Hindi film Delhi 6 won the `Nargis Dutt Award' for the best feature film on national integration. Both the producer and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will each receive the `Rajat Kamal' and Rs1,50,000 cash prize.
Reliance Big Pictures' Hindi film Well Done Abba also bagged the award for the `Best Film on Social Issues.' The film also brought the `Rajat Kamal' and Rs1,50,000 cash prize to both Reliance Big Pictures and director Shyam Benegal.
