State-run oil marketing companies have raised prices of non-subsidised cooking gas (LPG) by around Rs20 a cylinder across the country on Wednesday.

Accordingly, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder will now cost Rs714 in Delhi, Rs19 more than its price in December 2019. In Mumbai, too, LPG is now costlier by Rs19 a cylinder while in Kolkata and Chennai, it is now costlier by Rs21.5 and Rs20 per cylinder, respectively.
The price of non-subsidised cooking gas has gone up by Rs139.50 per cylinder in the last five months
However, subsidised LPG, for consumers with a taxable income below Rs10 lakh per annum, will remain Rs490-500 a cylinder. The price increase for these consumers will be absorbed by the centre through a direct benefit transfer of subsidy.
Price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), used to power aeroplanes, has been raised by Rs1,637.25 per kilolitre, or 2.6 per cent, to Rs64,323.76 per kl in Delhi, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.
ATF prices have on an average gone up by Rs1,713.56/kl. The hike is around 2.66 per cent across the cities.
This is the second straight monthly increase in rates attributed to the firming up of prices in the international market.
OMCs also raised the price of kerosene sold through the public distribution system (PDS) by 26 paise to Rs35.58 per litre in Mumbai.
This is in accordance with the 2016 decision to raise rates by 25 paise a litre every month till subsidy on the fuel is eliminated.
Delhi has been declared kerosene-free and no PDS kerosene is sold in the national capital.
