Marriott coming to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Marriott International, Inc, a NYSE-listed company, will open a Courtyard (one of the hotel brands from the group) hotel in Hyderabad in 2009 under a management agreement reached with an affiliate of Viceroy Hotels Ltd.

A press release attributed Ed Fuller, president and managing director, international lodging, Marriott International, as having said that when opened, the hotel would be the second Marriott International property in Hyderabad and the fifth Courtyard-branded hotel in India.

Later this month, the company will open a 297-room Hyderabad Marriott Hotel in Hyderabad. Courtyard is Marriott's largest lodging brand with more than 700 properties in 20 countries.

The company has lined up a 250-room JW Marriott Hotel Bangalore for the Karnataka State capital, the 199-room Courtyard by Marriott Gurgaon and the 210-room Courtyard by Marriott Noida in 2008. In 2009, the 250-room Courtyard by Marriott Kolkata would be opened.

The company would also open Courtyard brand hotels in Beijing, Bangkok and Manukau City (New Zealand) in 2008, the press release said.
