Mobile spectrum revenue collections up

Spectrum fee revenue levied on mobile service providers for 2007-08 up to 31 January was Rs2,845 crore, up from Rs1,957 crore in the 12-month period for 2006-07, a 45 per cent growth.

He said spectrum fee is reviewed periodically, taking into account various factors.
The appropriate spectrum charges levied for use of scarce spectrum for mobile services are one of the tools for its optimal and efficient utilisation, which benefits all mobile customers, Dr Ahmad said.
