Mysterious mobile handset explosions grip Assam

Mobile handsets exploding is not a new phenomenon, but about 30 different mobile phones suddenly exploding within a week when users answer a call is rare, and requires a scientific explanation.

The north eastern state of Assam in India has been hit with a rare case of exploding mobile handsets, which the locals have termed 'bombile.'

According to local media reports, there have been about 30 cases of mobile phones exploding last week when users answered calls with the incoming number highlighted in red colour.

More than 20 people have been admitted to various hospitals in Assam during the past one week, with victims complaining of nausea and a splitting headache, while a few of them have been reported to have suffered mild bruises.

Although nearly 10 victims have lodged a police complaint, law enforcers are perplexed and do no not know whom to file a case against in these bizarre cases.

According to victims, their mobile handsets exploded after they answered an incoming call from numbers that appeared in red colour on their handset screens.
