Olive Telecom launches Android 2.3-powered OliveSmart

Olive Telecom, a pioneer in hybrid mobile phone technology, on Wednesday announced the launch of its Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) powered smartphone, OliveSmart V-S300.
Launched in association with telecom service provider Aircel, the OliveSmart is the first smartphone running the latest Android version. The 3G HSPA+ handset is powered with a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, Adreno 205 graphics engine and 512MB RAM.
Priced at Rs20,000 the V-S300 comes with a 4.1" multi-touch capacitive touch screen display, 5 megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus that enables 720p HD video recording, front camera and accelerometer, 32 GB expandable memory and a 1400mAh battery backup.
"This Android phone promises to be a game-changer with its rich looks and advanced features like 3G HSPA+, Android Gingerbread, Adobe Flash (10.1), DLNA, HD video and surround sound," said Arun Khanna, chairman, Olive Telecom.
The phone also comes pre-loaded with applications such as the digital compass, Google Maps, Live TV and e-book reader.
