Petrol, diesel prices to go up marginally from Monday

Retail prices of petrol and diesel are set to rise marginally following an increase of dealer commission on petrol and diesel by Rs0.07 per litre and Rs0.04 per litre, respectively, beginning Monday.
The government has increased dealers' commission on sale of petrol to Rs1,098 per kilolitre from Rs1,028 per kilolitre and that on diesel sales to Rs670 per kilolitre from Rs630.
Oil industry sources said public sector fuel retailers are expected to pass on the hike in fuel prices to consumers across the country.
Effective 15 September oil marketing companies in the country had raised the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs0.50 a litre and by Rs0.40 a litre, respectively.
Oil marketing companies are reported to be pressing for a Rs2.25 per litre hike in the prices of petrol and a hike of Rs0.71 a litre for diesel.
In Delhi, the price of petrol has increased by Rs0.46 a litre to Rs29.66 per litre from Rs29.20 per litre.
