Petrol prices cut by Rs3.02 a litre; diesel to cost Rs1.47 more per litre

State-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, have effected a Rs3.02 per litre reduction in the retail price of petrol and an increase of Rs1.47 per litre of diesel effective midnight tonight.
With this change, the price of petrol in Delhi will become Rs56.61 per litre, with corresponding price revision in other states.
The price of diesel in Delhi will become Rs46.43 per litre, with corresponding price revision in other states.
The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant decrease in price of petrol and increase in price of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.
The movement of prices in the international oil market and Rupee-dollar exchange rate will continue to be monitored closely and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes.
Non-branded petrol will cost Rs62.75 a litre in Mumbai, Rs62.32 per litre in Kolkata and Rs56.08 a litre in Chennai.
Diesel will now cost Rs53.06 per litre in Mumbai, Rs49.57 per litre in Kolkata and Rs47.13 per litre in Chennai,
