State-owned oil marketing companies on Wednesday announced a revision in retail selling prices of automobile fuels effective midnight of 30 November, to reflect the prices of crude oil in the international market.

The retail price of petrol has been increased marginally by Rs0.13 per litre while the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs0.12 per litre, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd stated in a release.

Accordingly, petrol on Delhi will now cost Rs66.10 per litre while it will cost Rs72.46 a litre in Mumbai, Rs68.81 a litre in Kolkata and Rs65.58 a litre in Chennai.

Diesel will now cost Rs54.57 a litre in Delhi, Rs60.17 a litre in Mumbai, Rs56.81 a litre in Kolkata and Rs56.10 a litre in Chennai.

The prices are exclusive of state levies, which vary from state to state, Indian Oil Corp stated in its release.

''The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant an increase in selling price of petrol and a decrease in the selling price of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.

IOC said oil marketing companies will closely monitor the movement of prices in the international oil market and rupee-dollar exchange rate and adjust prices based on the developing trends of the market.
