PM inaugurates 450 MW Baglihar Power Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated 450 MW Baglihar Hydro Electric Power Project Phase-II and four-laning Udhampur- Banihal project on the Jammu-Srinagar National highway.
Jammu & Kashmir governor N N Vohara, CM Mufti Mohammad Saeed, union minister for roads Nitin Gadkari and Jitendra Singh were also present on the occasion.
The prime minister said that climate change and global warming are issues of global concern, and hydroelectric power is environmentally-friendly.
He said said that the government is committed to providing uninterrupted power to every home by 2022 when India celebrates its 75th years of independence.
Modi also said that road connectivity is a must for development and his government is working on it.
PM Modi said that save electricity is as important as generating it.
Prime Minister said that Rs80,000 crore has a component for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits who migrated from Kashmir Valley (See: PM announces Rs 80,000-crore package for J&K).
