Police arrested four men on suspicion of aggravated trespass at West Burton Power Station in UK yesterday. The climate protesters involved in the No Dash for Gas campaign were arrested after they climbed down from a chimney at the power plant.

It has been estimated that around 10 people continue to occupy chimneys at the EDF energy site, where they had been since early Monday this week.

Earlier, seven people were arrested after climbing down the chimneys and were released on bail pending further enquiries.

According to a Notts Police spokesman, officers continued to have contact with those who remained on the site and aimed to bring the protest to a peaceful conclusion as swiftly as possible without compromising anyone's safety.

According to No Dash for Gas campaigners their occupation had prevented 10,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions since it began on Monday.

A spokesman said this came after two more arrests took place yesterday following a successful attempt by the activists to string a rope between the 300ft high chimneys and traverse the 100 meter gap between them on the rope.
