Price of non-subsidised LPG hiked by Rs86 per cylinder

State-run oil marketing companies today announced a steep Rs86 per cylinder increase in the price of non-subsidised cooking gas (LPG), which customers buy after consuming their quota of subsidised cylinders, citing firming international rates.
The 14.2-kg cooking gas cylinder that consumers buy beyond their entitled 12 bottles at subsidised rates, will now cost Rs737.50 in Delhi, state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) said.
''With effect from 1st March 2017, non-subsidized price of LPG cylinder has increased by Rs86. This is in line with the rise in global LPG product prices. However, there will be no impact on the LPG consumers receiving subsidised refills,'' Indian Oil Corp stated in a release.
LPG customers are entitled to get Rs5 discount per cylinder on booking and paying online.
An LPG consumer will pay Rs737.50 for a new refill in Delhi with effect from 1 March 2017 and will receive subsidy amount of Rs303 in his/ her account and the net price for the consumer will be Rs434.93, which remains unchanged.
Non-subsidised LPG of Indian Oil Corp's `Indane' will cost Rs757.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder in Mumbai, Rs744.50 in Kolkata and Rs746.50 in Chennai.
Thus, there will be no net impact of the increase in price of non-subsidized cylinder on the LPG consumers receiving subsidized refills.
