The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed in a Delhi court its latest status report on the allotment of 2G spectrum in 2008, saying the matter of India's security being compromised is under investigation.

The report, filed in the court of CBI special judge Pradeep Chaddha, was in response to a private complaint by Janata Dal leader Subramanian Swamy.

The report stated that Swamy has already raised a similar issue pertaining to the "national security aspect" before the Supreme Court, and the matter was "under investigation".

The judge has fixed 17 March for proceedings in the case, as Swamy was not present before the court. He was busy in the apex court where the main case is being heard.

The CBI told the special judge it has begun probing if the country's internal security stood compromised due to the 2G spectrum allocation to ineligible telecom operators during former telecom minister A Raja's tenure.

The agency said it has begun probing the threat to country's internal security as per the concerns raised by Swamy.
