Former telecom minister A Raja today said he would appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the alleged irregularities in the allocation of 2G spectrum to certain telecom firms, on 24 December.
"I will appear before the CBI on December 24 at 10 am. I will appear for interrogation," Raja who arrived from Chennai today said.
CBI has served Raja a notice under Section 160 of the Criminal Procedure Code to appear before the investigating agency for questioning in relation to the case.
"I had made the request for December 24 to the CBI and they have accepted it," he said.
Even as Raja landed in Delhi, his party in Chennai announced a campaign to defend the former telecom minister who is at the centre of a Rs1,76,000-crore swindle.
The DMK today started a "with-Raja-for-Raja" movement and the "Truth About Spectrum" campaign.
