RIM launches BlackBerry Torch 9800

Research In Motion (RIM) today launched BlackBerry its latest offering the Torch 9800 , the first BlackBerry smartphone powered by the new BlackBerry 6 operating system.
The 3G-ready device carries a price tag of Rs35,000 will be available across all Indian telecom operators that offer BlackBerry services.
The device offers several advanced communications and multi-media features, and is targeted at socially connected consumers and people do business on the move.
"With its new high-performance browser, a powerful touch screen interface and an easy-to-use BlackBerry keyboard, the highly anticipated BlackBerry Torch offers an exceptional mobile experience for both consumers and business users in India ," said Frenny Bawa, managing director (India), RIM.
The BlackBerry Torch supports high-speed 3G networks world wide and incorporates the latest generation in Wi-Fi connectivity. It also features built-in GPS for location-based applications and geo-tagging.
With its new and rich WebKit-based browser integrated into BlackBerry 6, the BlackBerry Torch offers a great browsing experience thanks to its quick and rich rendering of HTML pages.
