Seven workers were killed when an Indian oil tanker exploded and caught fire at a shipyard in east China's Zhejiang Province on Tuesday morning.
The oil tanker, which was being repaired at the shipyard exploded and caught fire, leaving seven Chinese workers dead, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The explosion took place around 7:20 am, when the workers were repairing the tanker at the Haizhou Shipyard in Zhoushan city of Zhejiang province, the report quoted a spokesman with the provincial work safety supervision bureau as saying.
While reports did not point to any oil spill, the oil tanker, which has a capacity of 50,000 tonnes, was unloaded when the explosion occurred and smoke was detected, Xinhua said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, it said.
