31 Oct 2006
Mumbai: The Duke of York, Prince Andrew will inaugurate Caparo India's multi-product industrial complex at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on November 3.
Spread
over 120 acres, the world class complex was set up by
Caparo Engineering India Private Limited, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Lord Swraj Paul's Caparo Group. The complex
has a stamping facility, an R& D centre, aluminium
foundry and steel forging unit and aims to make the Caparo
group unit an engineering solution provider to the automobile
industry rather than just another auto component manufacturer,
according to Angad Paul, chief executive of the Caparo
group.
The complex would boost export earnings of Caparo India
by Rs200 crore and bring in total revenue of Rs600 crore.
It would also
provide employment to about 1,000 people, including workmen
and staff. Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth
II and Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, is currently on
a seven-day visit to India. Caparo zeroed in on Sriperumbudur
in Tamil Nadu as the South is a growing hub of the automobile
industry, the Caparo CEO said.
