Mumbai: The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Administrative Tribunal (TDSAT) today admitted a request from the government and adjourned a final hearing over the petition filed by GSM lobby group Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) challenging dual technology and spectrum allocation norms.

During the proceedings, counsels appearing for the Department of Telecom sought more time to file reply over affidavits filed by the GSM lobby as these raised new issues.

The Cellular Operators Association of India had, in two 120-page affidavits, contradicted the report of the Telecom Engineering Centre and the recommendations of sectoral regulator TRAI over the cross-over regime.

The TDSAT bench headed by Justice Arun Kumar adjourned the hearing for 2 December.

Consul for Reliance Communications Harish Salve, meanwhile alleged that the COAI was trying to shift the direction of the entire case by raising such technical problems.
