Telecom majors to focus on 3G applications at mobility conference in Mumbai

Mumbai: Telecom majors, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, GTL, Bay Talkitec, GTL, and Idea Cellular', aong others plan to unveil their 3G applications at the 3G India 2009 conference devoted to third generation mobile network and technologies.
The event, on 23 October 2009, will play a significant role for the Indian telecom industry with its focus on laying India's roadmap on 3G. Besides, bringing to the fore various policy issues affecting the deployment of 3G in India, the conference will also address the issue of revenue models from delivering 3G services.
The key participants are Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Idea Cellular, Audiocodes, Spice, FSecure, Bay Talkitec, GTL, RAD Communications, Livevana, Lepton Software etc.
The highlight of the conference will be live showcasing of 3G applications like video SMS, video on demand, among other value added applications by BayTalkitec 3G enabled Mobile VAS platform with in-built applications will enable these services on the MTNL Network.
Along with bringing to the fore various policy issues affecting the deployment of 3G in India it will also address how will money be made out of delivering 3G services and how revenues generated should be shared between the various stakeholders.
