Tulip IT forays into domestic long distance telephony

Mumbai: Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has granted to telecom services firm Tulip IT Services a licence to offer domestic long distance telephony services.

DoT has laid down a new licence requirement by DoT, as per which all IP/VPN service providers are required to migrate to the NLD licence. Tulip, which provides data connectivity services under its new NLD licence in the virtual private network (VPN) market has been granted the NLD licence. The company has also signed an agreement with NTT Communication India to provide connectivity services to NTT Com`s global customers based in India. NTT Communications India is a 100 per centsubsidiary of NTT Communications, Japan.
