Tulip Telecom emerges power ministry's largest network bandwidth service provider

Enterprise data service provider Tulip telecom today said it had been awarded a five-year Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program (R-APDRP) project for Bihar that has enabled it to emerge the single largest 'network bandwidth service provider' (NBSP) to the power ministry.

Under the Bihar R-APDRP project, Tulip will provide data connectivity services, including supply, installation and commissioning of MPLS VPN, internet and other connectivity services to the ministry of power.

This is the sixth R-APDRP order bagged by the company, the others being from state governments of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.

''We are happy to partner with the government and the private players in our endeavour to build and strengthen the network infrastructure in the nation,'' Lt Col. H S Bedi, founder chairman and managing director, Tulip Telecom, said.

Tulip also said in a regulatory filing today that it had won other orders worth Rs199 crore for its data centre and connectivity businesses.

These orders included - a three-year order from the Rajasthan State Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) a central government-funded project.
