Uninor launches special year end initiatives for customers

Norwegian telecom giant's Indian joint venture Uninor, a GSM service provider, today announced the launch of year end offers for its customers in Andhra Pradesh.

Amongst the offers include the 'ISD STV 111' scheme, which allow the user to make international calls as low as one paisa per second to USA, Canada, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other regions.

Uninor also announced the launch of 'Aaj Ka Paanch', specially designed local, STD, SMS or internet packs at a daily cost effective price of only Rs5.

Uninor in AP has established its geographical base in 23 districts, 500 towns and over 1,500 villages, and has eight company-owned outlets, 28 franchisee-owned outlets and over 360 modern trade outlets across Andhra Pradesh.

Uninor is the brand name for Unitech Wireless, the joint venture company of India's real estate major Unitech Ltd and Norway-based mobile services provider Telenor Group.

The Telenor Group has invested Rs6,135.63 crores through new shares in the joint venture to hold 67.25-per cent stake in the company.
Unitech Wireless holds a pan-India UAS license to offer mobile telephony services in each of India's 22 circles.

It has also received spectrum to roll out these services in 21 of the 22 circles. At present, Uninor services are available in the eight circles of UP (West), UP (East), Bihar, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and AP.
