Chinese smartphone manufacturers Xiaomi has announced an event on 24 November in China for the launch of its new smartphone.
Interestingly, it will not be a free event; entry tickets would cost 200 Yaun (approximately Rs2,000), and the number of tickets would be limited to 500.
No details for the new smartphone were vailable.
It is expected that Xiaomi would launch its Mi 5 smartphone, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset at the event.
A report by leakster @leaksfly further claimed that the microprocessor manufacturing giant, Qualcomm would announce a new chipset, Snapdragon 820 on 20 November, and according to rumours on the internet, the all new Mi 5 would be powered by it.
According to several other leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 5 would be powered by MediaTek's Helio X20 deca-core chipset.
Also, Qualcomm had said, a device running on Snapdragon 820 chipset would likely be launched in first half of 2016.
The company claimed that its 820 series processors were the most powerful processors available for hand-held devices.
The successor to the problematic Snapdragon 810 chipset incorporates new Kyro cores, though there was more news in the form of its Adreno 530 GPU, which is said to be 40 per cent better in terms of graphics performance. It is also claimed to cut down power consumption by 40 per cent making energy efficient as well.
However, the news was not about how good the GPU was, but about how it competed with the best a source from China claims, Tech2 reported.
And that was the Apple's A9 chipset that had been making news about how it defeated the current range of Android flagships with just two cores.
It said Qualcomm's newest GPU was than Apple's A9 chipset that utilised a PowerVR Series 7XT GT7600 (hexa-core).
It was around 10-per cent faster and while that seemed like a big difference, one had to consider that Apple was utilising chip design that had been created almost a year ago.
