Calsoft subsidiary enters digital home market with new products

CalsoftLabs, a wholly owned subsidiary of California Software Company Ltd (Calsoft), today announced its entry into digital home market with new products.
Calsoftlabs will make availabile additional software services targeted at the digital home market, Calsoft said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today.
Chennai-based Calsoft said Calsoftlabs, its wholly owned subsidiary, will offer browser porting and multimedia application development for digital home devices such as set-top box, IPTV, networked media and CE devices.
Calsoft said it is targeting services towards software platforms based on embedded Linux, Windows CE and Android. Calsoftlabs already provides Flash 10-and-Flash Lite 4-based solutions for the digital home market as Adobe's distributor. Calsoftlabs also has significant expertise in wired and wireless protocols such as 802.11n that enable networked devices to communicate with each other.
Calsoft said the digital home technology, in which all devices in the home are connected to one another, will change the way things work in every household. A wide range of digital home devices in the consumer electronic area are expected to provide browsing and multimedia capability in future, it noted.
"Calsoftlab's combined expertise in embedded, networking and multimedia technology provides a very attractive value proposition to OEMs developing digital home devices," said Anand Joshi, VP of Calsoftlab's digital home technology.
"With over 100 delivered projects to date, we are well positioned to build on our existing customer portfolio," it added.
