Core Education wins Rs157-cr Himachal ICT project

Core Education & Technologies Ltd, technology-enabled education solutions provider, has signed an agreement with Himachal Pradesh government for computerising 1,471 schools across 12 districts in the state.
The total value of the project is Rs157.45 crore. With this addition, Core Education would be providing education solutions to over 11,996 schools across India.
''The financial year 2011-12 was a landmark year and the momentum continues. We are happy on winning this contract as it marks the intent of the government to look beyond the traditional solutions and make best practices in education a norm going forward,'' Sanjeev Mansotra, chairman & global CEO, Core Education & Technologies, said.
''With this project, Core Education will take another step towards accomplishing our dream of making education more relevant, comprehensive and accessible for young students across social strata. This will prove it again that we are the preferred educational partner for governments across the country,'' he added.
Core Education will provide education solutions, including digital classrooms equipped with interactive white boards and multimedia content, in 618 government senior secondary schools (GSSS) and 848 government high schools (GHS) in the state.
The company will also be responsible for training 7,500 teachers, which will directly enhance learning outcomes in government schools across the state.
Core Education has been working with different state governments in the country since inception.
