Plan Plus software to help streamline decentralised planning
10 Apr 2010
The ministry of panchayati raj in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) has developed a software that helps to streamline the decentralised planning process.
The application software product, known as `Plan Plus', is generic and open to customisation by states, various central and state government departments as also local bodies, an official release said.
The decentralised planning tool helps various participants in the planning process to make informed decisions in the preparation, vetting and approval of the plan.
The interactive software captures workflow starting from need assessment, identification of project, work, preparation of draft annual plans, approval by technical appraisal committee and final approval.
The package also provides a holistic view of how funds from different central and state sponsored schemes could be converged to carry out works approved in a plan.
The new software targets the various participants, which include rural and urban local bodies, technical approval committees, and district planning committees as also central and state government departments responsible for preparing, vetting and approving the plan.
