30 Mar 2011
Software firm Prism Informatics today said it would acquire Germany-based GOD Barcode Marketing (GODBM) for an undisclosed amount in a move aimed at strengthening its presence in the supply chain and logistics domains.
The company said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange, it "has entered into agreement with the promoters / owners of GOD Barcode Marketing GmbH, Germany, for acquiring a 100 per cent stake in the company."
The German company is focused on provision of technology and service solutions dealing mainly with logistics and supply chain domains. It has been in the line for business for close to three decades.
GOD has excellent domain expertise in supply chain management and logistics.
According to Prism Informatics managing director Alok Pathak, the acquisition would help the company strengthen its existing verticals and gain expertise in various domains.
He added with GODBM, Prism would be able to serve its customers and partners better as they would be sharing a common vision and goal.
Last year, the company bought a 51-per cent stake in Saudi Arabia-based Information Management Technologies (IMT).
