Quest Software acquires Germany’s Völcker Informatik

US-based smart systems management software manufacturer Quest Software today said that it has acquired Germany-based Völcker Informatik AG a privately- held identity management solutions (IAM) provider for an undisclosed sum to broaden its business management capabilities.
Volcker Informatik is an IAM provider specialising in the management of user identities, access privileges and security across multiple applications and systems.
Founded in 1994 and based in Berlin, Volcker's Active Entry Identity Auditor software enables companies to set up compliance rules that monitor and document the adherence to policies and procedures.
Aliso Viejo, California-based Quest designs, develops, markets, distributes, and supports enterprise systems management software products worldwide. Its products are designed to support or to interact, or interoperate with other vendors' software or hardware platforms.
Its database management products comprise database development tools; the Quest Central product family for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and Sybase; SharePlex that provides real-time replication of Oracle databases; and LiteSpeed for managing Microsoft's SQL Server databases, including backups, business operations, and storage management.
More than 100,000 customers worldwide have used Quest's software to improve their IT efficiency. The company has more than 60 offices worldwide and had revenues of $695 million last year.
