Silver Lake explores sale of Vantage Data Centers

Silver Lake Partners is exploring a sale of Vantage Data Centers Management Co in a deal that may fetch the private equity firm in excess of $1 billion, including debt, Reuters yesterday reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
Silver Lake has hired investment banks Royal Bank of Canada and DH Capital to run the sale process, the report said.
Although Vantage has attracted interest from both strategic and financial investors, Silver Lake may not sell the company if it receives low bids, the report added.
Vantage, run by president and CEO Sureel Choksi, offers data centre planning and layout design, project management, structured cabling, and physical and logical migration services, as well as custom data center solutions.
It serves cloud storage and online gaming firms, Fortune 100 companies, collocation and interconnect providers, and cloud infrastructure providers.
Founded in 2010, the Santa Clara, California-based company is a former subsidiary of Intel Corp, and has data center locations in Quincy, Washington; and Santa Clara.
