TKH Group to buy German digital imaging specialist Augusta for $215 mn

Dutch technology firm TKH Group yesterday said that it will make a friendly €161-million ($215 million) takeover offer to buy Germany's digital imaging specialist Augusta Technologie AG.

Founded in 1991 and based in Munich, Augusta Technologie is an integrated technology company with a focus on digital imaging and optical sensors.

The Frankfurt-listed company provides digital cameras and optical sensor systems for automation and develops and produces both standard products and customised systems for a wide range of applications in a number of sectors including manufacturing, medical technology, multimedia, traffic and security.

It also provides products and services for mobile measuring systems and microsystems technology.

Its subsidiary HE System Electronic focuses on developing and producing custom-built power electronics, while its Dewetron subsidiary is a leading technology provider of high-frequency and dynamic measuring systems in portable and stationary applications.

Augusta posted revenues of €101.3 million and EBITDA of €17.9 million in 2011.
