appoints John Rizzo as Chief Technology Officer
Fremont, USA: Insignia Solutions has announced
the appointment of John Rizzo as Chief Technology Officer.
Rizzo will be responsible for guiding Insignia's technology
strategy and interfacing with industry players, standards
bodies, and business partners.
John
Rizzo brings over ten years of industry technical leadership
to Insignia Solutions. As chief architect for Vodafone's
global products and services group, Rizzo has participated
as a company lead on several leading- edge wireless data
industry standards expert groups, and has held technical
strategy positions with two global mobile operators, Airtouch
Communications and Vodafone group PLC.
Prior to joining Insignia, John Rizzo was based in Dusseldorf
Germany with the Vodafone global products and services
group, producing the global specifications for supporting
infrastructure and handset specifications for the end-to-end
wireless Java solution for Vodafone Live! which launched
in more than 5 major countries and has 1.5 million users.

Mihir
Ravel departs National Instruments
Austin, USA: National Instruments has announced
that Mihir Ravel, vice president of technology and corporate
development, is leaving the company this summer to pursue
his interests in globalized development and education.
Under Mihir's stewardship, NI initiated a number of technology
and business initiatives that the company will leverage
in coming years. Mihir drove the formation of strategic
relationships with key technology partners, initiated
deeper involvement in academic research and educational
projects and fostered the creation of key mixed-signal
and wireless technologies that are behind the company's
most recent modular PXI/PCI products.
"With the rapid changes we're seeing in the globalisation
of research and development, I'm excited about now working
with emerging technology ventures and academic institutions
on best practices for global R&D and engineering education,"
Mihir said. As part of his focus on the challenges of
globalise innovation, Ravel will continue to work with
NI as an adviser on academic and technology issues.
