India Economic Summit to open tomorrow in Mumbai

Mumbai will play host to the World Economic Forum's (WEF's) India Economic Summit for the first time in 26 years of its history.
The event will be held from 12 November to 14 November by the WEF in partnership with the Confederation of India Industry (CII).
The event will be see participation of over 800 delegates from 40 countries, comprising industry captains, representatives and political leaders.
According to Sushant Rao, senior director, head of Asia, WEF, the summit would focus on linking ''inclusive growth agenda'' with ''equitable growth agenda.''
According to Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, the state government wanted to facilitate a transition from agriculture to the services and industrial sectors.
Chavan said the government was very clear that it wanted large industrial investments in the state so that people could transition from agriculture to the services and industrial sector.
