All files on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose now declassified: govt

The government has declassified all the available classified files related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and transferred these documents to the National Archives of India (NAI) for permanent retention, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.
The files received at the National Archives of India are first subjected to preliminary conservation and digitisation, before being released in public domain, minister of state for science and technology and earth sciences Y S Chowdary stated in a written reply.
He said since both the processes are time consuming exercises, actual availability of these documents to the public might be delayed.
The issue of handing over documents relating to Netaji has also been taken up with the governments of Austria, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Italy, Japan, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and United States of America as well, he said, adding that responses from the governments of the Russian Federation, Federal Republic of Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom have been received.
Responses from the governments of Austria, Republic of Italy and the United States of America are awaited, he said.
