Media Research Users Council (MRUC) has appointed Hormusji N Cama as vice-chairperson. Cama, director of the Gujarati daily Bombay Samachar, took charge from 7 March.
At MRUC, he replaces Lokmat Group director, Bharat Kapadia, who had recently quit due to personal reasons as the vice-chairperson and from the board of governor of MRUC.
''Cama's vast experience and knowledge will be a great asset and benefit media users, as MRUC continues its growth. Despite being a reputed publisher, Cama is keenly interested in the development of other media,'' said Lloyd Mathias, chairperson, MRUC.
Cama has been on the board of governors of MRUC since September 2007. He has been actively involved in various publishing and industry bodies, and is currently on the board of directors of the Press Trust of India. Cama is also a former president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS).
