News Broadcasting Association appoints KVL Narayan Rao as president

KVL Narayan Rao, group chief executive officer and executive director, New Delhi Television has been appointed as the new president of News Broadcasting Association (NBA) at the association's board meeting held on 21 December, 2010.
Rao replaces Sameer Manchanda, chairman and managing director of Den Networks.
Zee News' chief executive officer, Barun Das will take over as the vice president of NBA from his earlier post as the honorary treasurer.
Ashok Venkatramani, CEO of MCCS, a joint venture between STAR International (News Corp) and Ananda Bazar Patrika group, has been appointed the the honorary treasurer for 2011-12.
The other members on the NBA Board are G Krishnan, executive director and CEO, TV Today Network, Rajat Sharma, chairman, Independent News Services, Sunil Lulla, managing director and CEO, Times Global Broadcasting Company and Saikumar Ganapathy Balasubramanian, COO, IBN18 Broadcast.
For the record, the News Broadcasters Association (NBA) represents the private television news and current affairs broadcasters. It currently has 20 leading news and current affairs broadcasters (comprising 45 news and current affairs channels) as its members.
