UK Asian rich list released
London: The 68 year old business tycoon, Sir Gulam Noon, Chairman of Noon products, has won the Asian Business Award for Community Services. According to the top 200 Asian rich list released on the occasion, the richest Asians were Mike Jatania and family (cosmetics and beauty products) worth 500 million pounds, followed by Vijay and Bhikhu Patel (pharmaceuticals) worth 425 million pounds and Tom Singh (fashion) worth 330 million pounds. Lord Swaraj Paul and family emerged as the fourth richest in the UK with a total wealth of 250 million pounds.

Mittal's house most expensive in the world
London: Non-Resident Indian Lakshmi Mittal, the richest Asian in the UK, has bought a central London house for a record price of 70 million pounds, according to 'The Sunday Times'. The 12-bed room house, in the prestigious Kensington Palace Gardens, is located near the official residence of the Indian High Commissioner.
Mittal, was declared to be worth an estimated 3.5 billion pounds according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2004. The mansion was sold by Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula One racing boss, and according to the report, the sale is likely to be recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive. The previous record was 62.7 million pounds for a 1997 sale in Hong Kong.
