Aryabhatta award for Deekshatulu
Hyderabad: The Astronautical Society of India has awarded the prestigious Aryabhatta Award-2002 to well-known scientist and former Director, National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad, Prof. B.L. Deekshatulu.

Previous winners include Prof. Satish Dhawan, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prof. U.R. Rao.

Umesh Kulshrestha bags young scientist award
Hyderabad: Dr. Umesh C. Kulshrestha, Scientist, Analytical Chemistry Division, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, has been awarded the Council of Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR) 2004 Young Scientist Award. The award is in recognition of his research work in the fields of 'Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean & Planetary Sciences,' according to an IICT release.
