Punit Goenka appointed MD of Zee News as Laxmi Goel quits

Laxmi Goel has put in his papers as MD, Zee News. His resignation was accepted by the board of directors at a meeting held on 5 July.
The step-down also marks his exit as the non-executive director on the board of the company.
Punit Goenka meanwhile was appointed as the MD of the company by the board members. He will continue as the non-executive board member at Zee News.
Goenka has held various positions in Zee Group. He holds the managing director's post and was the CEO at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), prior to the demerger of ZEEL from Zee News Ltd.
