Rajat Sethi resigns as Dentsu Marcom's MD

Rajat Sethi, MD, Dentsu Marcom, has resigned from his post after having taken over in September 2009. He had taken over from Rajesh Agarwal, currently president of Dentsu Marcom's India operations.
Sethi hails from the Harvard Business School and has expertise in marketing, advertising and relationship marketing. He is also a jury member at the 50th Cannes festival and the head of the year by Media magazine.
He started his career as a management trainee with paint manufacturer Jenson & Nicholson and left in 1983 as product manager, foraying into advertising with Lowe Lintas in Mumbai for five years.
Later he worked at Bates 141 and McCann, where he became vice president. He shifted domains to marketing becoming president and CEO in 1995.
Sethi then took over as CEO of Redifussion Y&R's marketing arm, Wunderman, and was elected to the board of directors in 2006. Later, he spent two years as country head of Reader's Digest International before joining Dentsu Marcom.
